McGregor Vineyard began producing its first Saperavi in 1985. Saperavi is an ancient wine grape originally from the country of Georgia. This estate grown and produced Saperavi was aged in oak barrels for one year. It has intense aromas and flavors of black currants and blackberries along with hints of earth, spice, and oak. While enjoyable in its youth, this wine will age nicely for many years.
90 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A crisp and oak free Chardonnay with a bit of sweetness. This wine has a full, rich mouthfeel and is good with light dinner and for everyday enjoyment. This is our first semi-dry Chardonnay since the memorable 2000 vintage. Approximately 312 cases produced. Estate Grown
This knockout vintage is a light bodied and crisp wine with a beautiful light salmon pink color. There are fresh fruit aromatics that are also expressed on the palate as red cherry, strawberry, rhubarb. These are blended nicely with notes of mineral/wet stone and herbs. This wine has a lingering finish with a mouthwatering burst of wild strawberry Serve with assorted cheeses and charcuterie, grilled knackwurst, BBQ chicken and rhubarb pie. Drink now through 2021.
This vintage of Cabernet Franc represents the large, ripe 2017 vintage well. . Aromas and flavors of red cherry, strawberry, and a hint of raspberry lead to a finish that sits lightly on the palate. More subtle flavors of graphite, herbs, dust and oak are also expressed nicely on the finish. This wine is light to medium bodied and has outstanding fruit expression.
While color is never an issue with this wine, this vintage is clearly off the charts- 100% opaque! The wine is quite aromatic and reminds me of ripe elderberries, black currants, blackberries, coconut and freshly split white oak. These characteristics follow through on the palate beautifully. The wine is rich and soft and ripe tannins grip (not bite) the palate and lead to a long, long finish.
This semi-dry Gewürz is full of spice and fruit character- pear and tropical fruits mingle on the palate with hints of fresh ginger. Its sweetness is beautifully balanced with Finger Lakes acidity. Great with Thai and Mexican fare, grilled bratwurst and spicy ribs. Estate Grown
Aromas of green apple fresh pear abound with an underlying herbaceous character. These aromas continue onto the palate along with classic Finger Lakes slate and mineral depth. This versatile food wine will shine over the next one to four years.
This wine is a great example of why you shouldn’t be afraid of residual sugar in Rieslings from the Finger Lakes. The naturally high acidity in our Rieslings provide the perfect counterpoint to residual sugar which provides bigger mouthfeel in the wine. This vintage has a light golden straw color and is very aromatic with essences of orange blossoms, honey, stone fruits and tangerine all rising from the glass. These characteristics are also present on the palate along with apricot and citrus peel.
One of our very best Gewürztraminers to date. This vintage is very aromatic with aromas of pear and spicy crushed ginger dominating. The palate is rich and full with expressions of pear, ginger, white pepper and underlying notes of tropical fruit. Pair with summer barbecue, pork carnitas and spicy Thai dishes.
