One of the most anticipated events of the year! This tasting event is your avenue to be the first to taste our upcoming red wine releases, alongside selected wines from the McGregor Vineyard Wine Library. We are featuring wines from the 2022 vintage. A severe hailstorm and hungry deer greatly diminished our harvest yields, making these wines the scarcest we’ve seen in two decades.
As a result, we have selected previous vintages of these wines from our library to compare with the new 2022s. This is a great opportunity to experience the great ageability of McGregor Vineyard wines. We are keeping the library wines secret and will reveal which wines these are at each Red Wine Barrel Tasting experience.
There are two ways to take your Red Wine Barrel Tasting journey this year. The Red Wine Barrel Tasting - Red Wine Flight + Food Pairing includes the wine flight paired with elevated food pairings created for these wines by Keuka Lake’s Lake Life Catering. Options for vegetarian and gluten free pairings are available. Reservations for this experience are available on the weekends of November 18th & 19th and December 2nd & 3rd.
We also have four tasting sessions hosted by John McGregor. If you are interested in learning as much as you can about these wines and our red winemaking program, the Exclusive Tasting with John McGregor is the Red Wine Barrel Tasting experience for you. Join John as he discusses these wines, how they relate to previous vintages, and what it is that makes our wines so unique and expressive. John will answer what makes our red wines worth remembering and why it’s worth purchasing more of them than you think you should! This tasting also features food pairings from Lake Life Catering. These tastings are at 11am on November 18th, 19th, and 11am on December 2nd and 3rd.
