McGregor Vineyard is open 7 days a week, year round...we are currently open from 11 am to 5 pm every day! Stop in and sample our diverse wine selection, and we also offer wine by the glass or bottle. Come for a visit, relax and enjoy the view. Please call ahead for groups larger than 10 people.
We have plenty going on here during the winter months. See our events page to get the details on our upcoming events and special tastings.
John and Stacey McGregor will once again host
a winter wine tasting series called “Sunday’s From the Library.” At these tastings,
we will serve matured wines from our wine library paired with gourmet hors
d'oeuvres. Each Sunday's focus is on a specific varietal, varietals or vintage
and will include eight to ten wines. Stacey is preparing an assortment of
delicious foods to specifically suit the wines being served. The menu for the day
will not be announced ahead of the tasting but the pairings are certain to be
outstanding. The wines and foods are presented together in a relaxed,
educational manner. Some of the wines featured will be available in limited
quantities for purchase and others will be sampled but not sold due to limited
(or no) additional bottles remaining. The cost to attend is $45 per person and
is open to the public. The tastings will
begin at 11:30AM and last about 2 hours. Each tasting is limited to 30 people and
reservations or cancellations must be made by 5PM on the Friday prior to the
tasting. Please join us for one or more of these special tastings and share in
the rare opportunity to sample vintage McGregor wines spanning decades.
The schedule
for the tastings is as follows:
January 15 Black Russian Red
January 22 Pinot Noir
January 29 Rob Roy Red (a blend of Cabernet Franc,
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)
February 19 Cabernets & Merlots
February 26 2002 Vintage Reds & Whites
It is never to early to make plans to attend our Black Russian Bash. This is clearly become our most
popular “off season” event of the year! Obviously, as McGregor Clan Club
members, you’ve already had the pleasure to enjoy the new vintage.
However, I know that many of you immediately stash your new bottle of
Black Russian Red deep in your wine cellar, so this event is the perfect
opportunity to try the wine without having to open your bottle! This
event also signifies the last chance to purchase the 2008 Black Russian
Red at the special Clan Pack prices. (If you can’t attend the event in
person, we can certainly take any last minute orders over the phone).
Please let us know if you’re thinking of attending. Reservations are not
required, but they are very much appreciated as it helps Stacey better plan
on how much food to prepare. The event is taking place on Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday the 4th. It runs from 11-5PM each day. This
year, Stacey is treating guests to a delicious food and wine pairing of
Hoisin braised beef served over sweet potato mash, sauteed bok choy and
chocolate ganache cake. The cost to attend the Black Russian Red Bash is
$10 per person for Clan Club Members or $15 per person for
guests/non-members. This fee covers your food and wine samples and a
McGregor logo wine glass. Also for this weekend we will be conducting
special vertical tastings of Black Russian Red from the library and from
the barrel along side our current vintage for a small, additional fee.
For the past few years we’ve
hosted a wonderful, multi-course, food and wine pairing dinner in tandem
with our Black Russian Red Bash here at the winery. It takes place on
Saturday evening at the Village Tavern Restaurant in Hammondsport. Call
them directly to make your reservations at 607-569-2528.
