We invite you to sit by the fire, relax and enjoy the view. We are serving wine by the glass or bottle in addition to hosting regular tastings 7 days a week.
Please call ahead for groups larger than 10 people.
It will soon be time for the highly anticipated public release of our signature wine, the Black Russian Red. We celebrate this with a weekend long event we call the Black Russian Bash. It will take place at the winery on March 6th and 7th, 2010. This has become our most popular “off season” event of the year.
If you are a McGregor Clan Club member, you’ve already had the opportunity enjoy the new vintage. A bottle is always included in your January wine shipment. However, we know that many of you stash your new bottle of Black Russian Red deep in your wine cellar, so this event is the perfect opportunity to try the wine without having to open your bottle. This event also signifies the last chance to purchase the 2007 Black Russian Red at the special Clan Pack prices. (If you can’t attend the event in person, we can certainly take any last minute orders over the phone).
Please let us know if you’re thinking of attending. Reservations are not required, but they’re very much appreciated as it helps us better plan on how much food to prepare. The event runs from 11-5PM each day. This year, Stacey is treating guests to hearty samples of slow-cooked Spanish style beef over seasoned rice with sauteed escarole and soft molasses cookies with dark chocolate. The recipes for the beef, rice and greens were included in the Janurary newsletter.
The event is open to the public. The cost to attend the Black Russian Red Bash is $10 per person for Clan Club members and $12 per person for guests/non-members. This fee covers the food and wine samples and a McGregor logo wine glass. Also for this weekend we will be conducting special vertical tastings of Black Russian Red from the library and from the barrel along side our current vintage for a small, additional fee.
John and Stacey McGregor are also hosting a multi-course, food and wine pairing dinner at the Village Tavern restaurant in Hammondsport on the evening of the 6th.
